PROJECT OVERVIEW: The University at Albany's 100-year-old Milne Building basement underwent a complete transformation into a state-of-the-art IT/AV classroom. This renovation modernizes a historic campus space while creating a technologically advanced learning environment designed to support modern pedagogical approaches.
EDUCATIONAL DESIGN: The new active learning facility accommodates multiple teaching methodologies, supporting interactive lectures, collaborative learning activities, and assembly use. This versatile design enhances instructional flexibility while maximizing the renovated space's utility.
INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS: The project included converting existing storage areas into a dedicated mechanical room and AV/IT hub to support advanced technological capabilities. Restroom facilities underwent a comprehensive renovation to meet current accessibility standards and accommodate increased usage.
QUALITY FINISHES: High-end architectural elements, including wood ceilings, wood wall panels, and slate tile flooring, create a modern, sophisticated environment.
