PROJECT OVERVIEW: This comprehensive renovation delivered significant upgrades to the existing Rogers Memorial Park in Bolton Landing, NY, enhancing this treasured public space on the shores of Lake George. The project balanced modern amenities with architectural elements that complement the natural lakeside setting while improving visitor experience and infrastructure reliability.

CONSTRUCTION SCOPE: The renovation included demolition of the existing bandstand and replacement with a 650-square-foot Douglas fir post-and-beam structure that serves as the park's architectural centerpiece. Site improvements featured new cast-in-place sidewalks and granite curbing along the beach area and new entrance on Rogers Park Road. The project maintained continuity of essential services through careful planning and execution.

ARCHITECTURAL FEATURES: Distinctive design elements include custom stepping stones and amphitheater-style seating constructed of hand-tooled locally sourced granite, creating natural gathering spaces throughout the park. New antique street lighting enhances both safety and aesthetic appeal while complementing the historic character of Bolton Landing. Comprehensive landscaping and irrigation systems ensure sustainable, attractive grounds for years to come.

CHALLENGES & EXECUTION: One significant obstacle involved material acquisition during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic when supply chains faced unprecedented disruption. Through proactive planning and strategic procurement, the project management team successfully navigated these challenges while maintaining construction progress. Additionally, the team successfully upgraded power to the Town's sewage pump house while maintaining mandatory 24/7 service.

PROJECT COMPLETION: The renovation delivered all specified improvements while coming in under the owner's budgeted amount. The revitalized Rogers Memorial Park now serves as an enhanced community asset for both residents and visitors to Bolton Landing and Lake George.
