Project Description:
Albany Airport Terminal Restoration
GATEWAY TO THE WORLD: The new, state-of-the-art Albany International Airport has transformed the Capital Region. Serving as a "Gateway to the World," the 260,000-square-foot Passenger Terminal combines modern and traditional architecture, incorporating elements of the area's Shaker heritage.
ENGINEERING EXCELLENCE: The construction of the facility required the use of materials and systems designed for efficient installation, shortened lead times, and ease of application or handling under less-than-favorable conditions.
EXCEPTIONAL PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Although the project underwent numerous changes throughout construction, the Albany County Airport Authority and Sweet Constructors, through meticulous planning and tireless efforts, successfully reduced the schedule by six months and completed the project under budget.
COMMUNITY IMPACT: This architectural achievement now serves as the region's premier transportation hub, welcoming visitors and connecting local residents to destinations worldwide while reflecting the unique character and heritage of the Capital Region.
