PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Delivered through a multi-prime contract structure, VMJR Companies served as the General Contractor, coordinating the efforts of various specialty contractors to ensure timely and high-quality completion. This approach required detailed scheduling and communication to integrate all building systems effectively.
FACILITY COMPONENTS: The purpose-built facility includes a spacious apparatus bay for emergency vehicles and an MEP mezzanine housing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Administrative offices support departmental operations while dedicated firefighter spaces include sleeping quarters, a kitchen and dining area, an exercise room, and laundry facilities.
OPERATIONAL FEATURES: The station incorporates specialized training space designed specifically for firefighter skill development and emergency response preparation. This dedicated area enhances department readiness while providing on-site professional development capabilities.
COMMUNITY IMPACT: This modern facility represents a significant investment in local emergency response infrastructure, ensuring the Scotia Fire Department can effectively meet community safety needs with contemporary equipment and appropriate operational spaces.
