Sweet Constructors, now a division of The VMJR Companies, was founded in Schenectady, NY by the late Ansel Sweet, P.E., LLS in 1951. Sweet also opened offices in Burlington, VT and Spartanburg, SC in the late ‘70s and soon became the third-largest Construction Management firm in the United States.
Now located in Glens Falls, NY, we are instrumental in major economic growth projects throughout the Capital Region and Upstate New York. Notable General Contracting projects include: Albany International Airport’s Passenger Terminal, The University at Albany's Science and Technology Library, and the CDTA’s Rensselaer Train Station. These projects are recognized by the elite in the industry and received prestigious local and national awards.
As today's buildings have become more complex, Sweet Constructors has evolved to manage these complexities. To deal with dynamic environments and buildings inherently complex in their architecture, structure, mechanical and electrical systems, Sweet has developed from a construction company into a multi-faceted construction organization, with many interrelated services and capabilities. A sample of some of Sweet's completed projectscan be seen by going to our project profiles page above.
